Strike a match
see the flame
rushing up
engulfing snowy white tip
this is what i do
(disregard)
nothing wrong at all
(this burning)
it won't affect you
(choking)
it only affects me
(i'm in control)
only me
(aren't i?)
irrepressible urge
(only me)
ashen tip
(wasting away)
cherry glow
(it's taken hold)
i'm fine, you see
(silent intruder)
one effect
(taking over)
my health
(it's in control)
not yours
(it's not just me)
(not anymore)
(you've lost the game)
(gained all the pain)
(checkmate)

This is for :iconbeomene:

This is what she wrote in her request:
I need something written about smoking.

Something about the addictiveness of it,
'round the situation where you can't put up with it any longer.

The scenario is that someone is a smoker,
but will not give it up even though its requested.
When I got pregnant last year I had to stop hanging out with two of my very best friends. I was studying medicine, and had during one of my lectures come across the fact that the "passive" part of smoking disturbing its enviroment goes on for two hours. One cigarette will leak its poison from textile, lungs, hair and skin from the smoker. You actually have to take a shower and change clothes for it to stop any sooner than two hours after the cigarette was consumed.

Well, I told my friends about this,
but they could not
Would not
stop.

Not even the far too young girl, who is very caring about her siblings. She had always tried to smoke when no parent or sibling noticed, and had thought that it was only her own health that was hurt. She simply did not listen, I guess, when I explained how it actually works...
I asked them not to smoke for two hours before I came to visit, which I at the time did almost every day. But in the end it did'nt work out, I did'nt believe their word, I realized they did'nt think I was worth the effort. The deluding world of addiction, they did'nt claim science was wrong, they did'nt want me to stop seing them. They are still smoking, and I take that as a proof that the nicotine is too powerful in their lives, while I am dispensable.

Hmm, I have not thought about this for long, but it suddenly popped up in my mind.

I would like something short written about losing to a drug addiction, especially such an inconspicuous one as tobacco. It is so normal in society to abuse it. It is so sad to be worth less.

It's a sad world when your "friends" disregard your and a child's health

I hope you like it!

and when I'm done feeling it for the moment I won't feel wrong for feeling it,but right now I feel it and it feels wrong.*~¥ - (E.Soileau)
